General Business – Dec/Jan
These last few months have been quite a challenge for us operationally and I would like to thank our loyal members who have stuck with us during the most difficult period of the renovations. Finally, that work is starting to bear fruit as exciting new areas open up with greater regularity.
The bar next to Shamrocks gave us our first glimpse into the future. By the time most of you will be reading this our new kitchen and dining area will have come online too. At the moment, it still takes a bit of finding but I can assure you it is well worth the effort with a fabulous view over the playing fields.
While we’re on the topic, now is the perfect time to welcome the newest member of our senior team, Executive Chef Neil Smith. Neil has taken over responsibility for catering after a highly successful stint at the Pineapple Hotel in Brisbane and we are very much looking forward to what he will bring to Brothers.
There is a lot to get excited about in the next couple of months with Christmas just around the corner. As the big day draws nearer, our Monster Raffles will take on a Christmas theme with plenty of toys and other prizes perfect for kids of all ages. Our Sunday Market Raffles will also feature some amazing wood smoked leg hams made especially for us by Schulte’s Meat Tavern.
We are very pleased to welcome back the Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Youth Choir who will be in to perform some carols on 21, 22 and 23 December and then on Christmas Eve, we draw our major promotion, Santa’s $15,000 Cash Giveaway.
We see out 2017 with a huge line-up of promotions and free entertainment all based on this year’s theme “Under Construction”. A number of our staff will be getting dressed up and you are invited to join them. Check in with a photo on Facebook and you could even win a prize. Throughout the day we’ll be holding a dozen games of our Tower Challenge. For each game, four players will compete to build the biggest tower and claim the $500 first prize. Question Marks Trivia will be getting in on the theme too, as will our free live entertainment with Double Vision kicking things off from 8pm and Dirty Dice keeping the party going well into 2018.
We’re marking Australia Day with a fantastic free show upstairs. The Prime Ministers of Australia Oz Rock Tribute is two hours of Aussie rock classics featuring a Whole Lotta AC/DC. Don’t miss that one.
As usual, Brothers will be open every day over summer with the exception of Christmas Day itself. Look carefully at our regular promotions pages because we’ve made a few subtle changes and stepped them up yet again. And while we await the completion of our renovations, the incredible “under construction” catering specials will continue with a few new additions I’m sure you’ll love.
If I don’t catch you personally beforehand, I’d like to wish each and every one of you a safe and happy Christmas and I look forward to seeing you at Brothers in what promises to be a very exciting New Year for the club.
